There are two primary ways activities are entered in Collaboratory:
Regardless of how an activity is initially entered in Collaboratory, there are steps that must be taken by both activity owners (e.g., engaged faculty and staff) and Collaboratory administrators before an activity can be published and available for public view. The necessary steps for activity publication are outlined below.
Activity Created by Faculty/Staff Owner Workflow
A faculty or staff member creates their activity in Collaboratory.
Once all required data fields are completed, the faculty/staff submits the activity to a Collaboratory administrator for review.
The Collaboratory administrator review the activity and either:
Approves it! The activity is now published in your institution's Collaboratory and visible to the public.
Submits the activity back to the faculty/staff with requests for edits. The faculty/staff will receive an email alerting them of the requested edits. Once edits are made, the faculty/staff can then resubmit the activity to the administrator for publication.

Proxied Activity Workflow
A proxy creates an activity and submits it to the identified faculty/staff activity lead. Note: Because proxies may not know all the required information for an activity, they can submit activities to the activity lead without completing all fields.
The identified faculty/staff claims the activity, becoming the activity owner. At this point both the activity owner and the proxy have editing rights to the activity.
Once all required data fields are completed (by the proxy and/or the owner), either the proxy or the activity owner can submit the activity to a Collaboratory administrator for review.
