Collaboratory makes it possible for you to invite others at your institution to provide information about your community engagement and public service activities on your behalf. This may include administrative assistants, graduate students, or other faculty/staff members with whom you collaborate.
NOTE: Only members at your institution can submit information as a proxy.
Step 1: Navigate to Add Activities
Log into your institution's Collaboratory in the top right corner of the homepage.
Scroll down to the bottom of your Collaboratory homepage and select "Add Activities".
Step 2: Select a Proxy
Select "Invite a Proxy".
Click the gray "Select" button to identify your intended proxy.
From the modal, search for the individual you would like to proxy an activity on your behalf.
Selecting the bullseye will display that member's institutional profile in a new browser window for quick review.
If you do not see the individual for whom you are looking, select "Don't see them? Invite to register" in the top right corner of the modal.
Provide the name and email of the individual you wish to invite and select "Invite". This will close the modal and send an email invitation to that individual. Once they join Collaboratory, you will be able to return and ask them to proxy activities on your behalf.
Step 3: Invite a Proxy
Once you identify your proxy, provide an activity title, so they know the activity for which you are requesting assistance.
They select "Continue to Create Activity".
Before your invitation can be sent, you must answer 4 questions to confirm your activity belongs in Collaboratory and then to categorize it as either community engagement or public service. Answer them to the best of your ability.
Select Begin and follow the prompts.
Upon completing the questions, a message will appear notifying you that the invitation has been sent to your Proxy.
NOTE: The proxy will receive an email invitation to complete the activity on your behalf. They may then submit the activity directly for publication or send it back to you for review and approval.
If they send it to you, you must approve and submit the activity for publication before it is published. The proxy retains the ability to edit and submit the activity until it is published.
