Adding Images Via the Asset Manager

A picture is worth 1,000 words.

Updated over a week ago

You may add photos to a variety of content in Collaboratory - activities, units, community organizations, and faculty/staff profiles. Images are added to all content types via the asset manager.

Within the identified content, select "Upload" to launch the Asset Manager. Before a photo is added all content will display a default image.

In the asset manager pop-out module click the gray plus (+) sign to upload a photo or drag and drop a photo into the right side of the asset manager. You can also choose an existing photo on the left.

The photos that populate on the left side of the asset manager are photos your individual user uploaded previously. They are visible only to your user.

NOTE: Allowed photo types include jpg and png. The max photo size is 10 MB.

All photos in Collaboratory are displayed as squares. To crop a selected photo, place your mouse over the photo and drag the crosshairs across the photo to the desired square shape. Hovering your mouse over the cropped section of the photo will allow you to reposition the photo if needed.

Select "Crop" to save the cropped image. Then click "Select" to add the photo to the activity, unit, profile, etc.
